Every morning, bathing in the first sunshine of the East, the fishermen are loaded with diverse seafood from the sea. As the easternmost city in the Shandong Peninsula, Rongcheng is surrounded by the sea on three sides. The coastline is nearly 500 kilometers and the sea area is about 3,000 square kilometers. There are 10 major bays and 115 islands around Rongcheng, and the marine resources are very rich.

Here is the special marine food cooked with special seafood from Roncheng.


1.PEARL FISH BALL---- SHI DAO HOTEL

The fish meat is chopped and repeatedly stirred and kneaded into a fish ball shape, then cooked in chicken soup. The fish balls are very chewy and have the delicious taste of chicken soup.

2.FISH STEW WITH PONE---- LUOFENGGANG WHARF

This is the representative food of Rongcheng: Stewing the fresh fish with special Chinese sauce to make the fish soft and tender, put the pone into the soup, this combination will challenge your taste limit.

3.ABALONE WITH KELP SOUP---- HOAXING HOTEL

Rongcheng is known as the “hometown of Chinese kelp”. The annual kelp production accounts for about 50% of the country's total output; Rongcheng abalone is also one of the best abalones in China. Stew the kelp and abalone together to make the soup thick and nutritious.

4.STEAMED SEAFOOD PLATTER

6. JIAOZI STUFFED WITH MACKEREL(CHINESE MACKERD DUMPLINGS )

The only thing you must do to Rongcheng is to eat a mackerel dumpling, and it must be made on the spot. The freshly caught mackerel is more delicious and maintains more nutrients, making the dumplings popular with tourists. At the same time, dumplings contain the meaning of blessing.

Huabobo is popular in the Jiaodong area of Shandong Province, it has more than 300 years’ history and is a intangible cultural heritage. Handmade with flour, Huabobo can not only be eaten, but also can be used as a gift to friends and family members. It can also be customized to a special shape to express a good blessing.

10. SPECIAL EGG BALL---- SHIDAO HOTEL

Egg balls are balls of about 2 cm in diameter, which are fried with eggs, flour and cooked white meat.
